A different kind of consulting practice

Some emails deserve a second thought.

A difficult decision. A conversation you've been putting off. A problem that doesn't fit neatly anywhere. Dockside is being built for the moments when it helps to think things through before you act.

OPENING OCTOBER 2027 / EARLY INTEREST WELCOME

When the next step matters

A little space to think can change what happens next.

Dockside is for leaders who care about their organizations and their people, but don't always have someone they can think out loud with. Not every problem needs a consultant's report. Sometimes it needs the right conversation.

01 / THE HARD MOMENT

The email you keep rereading.

Something has happened. The response matters. And the next move isn't obvious.

02 / THE STUCK MOMENT

The problem that keeps coming back.

The usual answers aren't working. A new way of looking at the situation might.

03 / THE OPEN MOMENT

The idea worth talking through.

A big change, an unfamiliar question, or a possibility that's too early for a formal plan.

The approach

Less theatre.
More thinking.

Dockside is a decision-support practice. A grounded second mind for leaders navigating uncertainty, people decisions, organizational challenges, and new directions.

It draws on years of experience with workplaces and organizations, without treating every question as an HR problem. The aim is simple: understand what matters, sort through the options, and take a thoughtful next step.

The person behind Dockside

A real person behind the idea.

I'm Jason Clement, CHRL. For more than 15 years, I've worked alongside leaders in municipalities, hospitals, nonprofits, and businesses, helping them navigate decisions that don't come with straightforward answers. That work has included workplace conflict, investigations, labour relations, hiring and selection, and organizational challenges that don't fit neatly into one category.

What I've learned is that the question on the surface is rarely the whole story. Good decisions take context, a willingness to test assumptions, and room to consider the people and practical realities involved.

That's what I'm building Dockside around: an experienced outside perspective and a useful conversation before the next decision becomes harder to undo.

Dockside is being developed ahead of an October 2027 opening. I’m not accepting client engagements through this page yet.

There are two ways to reach out: ask for one opening announcement, or send me a question or thought about the idea. Choose whichever makes sense for you.

01 / OPENING ANNOUNCEMENT

Hear when Dockside opens.

Want to know when the practice launches? Leave your email for one opening announcement around October 2027. This is not a newsletter.

OR
02 / QUESTION OR THOUGHT

Send Jason a note.

Curious about the idea, have a question, or want to share a thought? A short general note is enough. I’ll read it and respond where it makes sense.
